Louisa Baseball 11 yr old All Stars Make History

Louisa Baseball 11 yr old all stars swept the 2017 District 14 tournament, going 3-0 in pool play and defeating Monticello twice (11-1 & 12-2) in double elimination.  Louisa outscored their opponents 68-5!  Louisa then traveled to Luray, VA for the state tournament on July 14.  Once again, they cruised through pool play going 3-0, defeating Cave Spring National, Central Loudon, and Broadway.  The top 8 teams moved on to compete in a single elimination tournament for the state title.  Louisa knocked out Spotsylvania 16-0 in the first round and then defeated Reston Herndon American 10-0 in the semi finals.  For the championship game, Louisa met up with Central Loudon once again.  The District 16 team battled but couldn't overcome the mighty Louisa boys.  The 4-1 victory claimed Louisa's first ever state title for this age division and Louisa Little League's third state title ever.

Next stop - Greenville, NC for the Southeast Region State Tournament of Champions!  On Saturday, July 29, Louisa faced Plant City (Florida) and succumbed 14-3 in the wet and chilly match up.  Bouncing back the following day, Louisa defeated Tennessee 17-4 and then defeated West Virginia 17-11 on Monday, earning them a berth to the semi finals.  With four teams traveling home, Louisa faced the top-seeded and host team - Tar Heel Little League - in a single elimination tournament.  The two teams battled, but North Carolina managed to finish on top 4-2, ending Louisa's 2017 phenomenal all-star run.  North Carolina went on to become the tournament champion, defeating Florida 5-2.  For a full rundown of the 2017 SE Region Tournament of Champions, please click the link below.
